'Joy if off the Scale'- Scaly-breasted Lorikeets Art Print

We are so lucky where we live to always be surrounded by Rainbow Lorikeets. Everyday they fill the trees, and visit us. But I’ll never forget the day that I spotted two slightly smaller, and mostly green little birds within the group. Two little Scaly-breasted Lorikeets. They were much shyer than their noisy rainbow friends (and were often chased away). They kept their distance for months, just watching from higher in the trees, until finally taking the leap and visting our balcony! They were like the cutest little kids at Christmas, so excited and smiley- I felt like I could see the joy on their faces, so proud of themselves for achieving their goal. I now get to see these two quite often, and have spotted another two in the flock! I adore them. They may be less colourful than the rainbows, but they are burtsing with personality and they’re greens are stunning. I particularly love the subtle hint of emerald hues that crown their head and shine in the light.
